12 May’ 10 : Police firing at Chandia village, KalingaNagar Orissa with support of Tata Steel, State sponsored goons and BJD carders killing one Lakshman Jamuda aged between 50-55 including 10 women and two women Jema & Basanti Bankiri have been seriously injured. Jharkhand Mines area Coordination committee (JMACC) condemns this brutality murder of Adivasi’s in Kalinga Nagar by the corporate land snatchers. Immediate action should be taken by the central Government to stop the bloodshed and killing of Adivasis in the name of development. Jmacc Joint secretary Subash Gayali and Elias Ansari said .
As we issue this statement, police terror in Kalinganagar continues. In January 2006, where 14 died and many injured. This year on 30th of March when Local people were peacefully demonstrating against the project armed police started demolishing the houses and opened fire 25 injured including 9 women. Once again today (12 May 2010) Police opened fire killing one person and 10 others injured.
Jharkhand Mines Area Coordination Committe (JMACC) condemn this continues terror by the Orissa government and Tata Company against non-violent and democratic people’s movements in corporate interests. Jmacc pay tribute to martyrs family and support the movement.
